Knowledge of proper nutrition is essential in your fitness journey, regardless of your goals. What you eat can majorly impact your appearance, your performance in your sport, and even how you feel in your day-to-day life.
My fitness journey began with a desire to lose weight. I was 50 lbs overweight and struggling with binge eating.
I would spend my weekends eating anything and everything I could, simply because it was the weekend. During the week, I believed my entire day was ruined if I ate so much as a cookie or a slice of pizza. I would then spend the rest of my day consuming a large amount of food because I had already “ruined my diet.” Ultimately, I was able to lose weight and change my mindset toward food. This mindset shift did not occur until I began to better educate myself on nutrition and exercise.
